MUMBAI: State Agriculture Minister Ranjit Deshmukh today urged the visiting Netherlands delegation for a technological cooperation in the development of the agro-based processing units of milk and fruits as the State Government has large resources in these fields. A delegation from Netherlands led by their foreign trade minister Jerit Yabemaya called on Deshmukh to explore the possibilities of having trade relations with the State. Yameba said that Maharashtra should take benefit of the country8217;s international experience and advanced technology in this field. Whereas the Agriculture Minister urged the delegation to make available information to the State traders regarding the demand of the State products in the international market.
Ration shop owners8217; problems
MUMBAI: Food and Civil Supplies Minister Datta Meghe today said that attempts will be made to solve the problems of the ration shop owners in the state. A delegation of various associations of the rationshop owners today met the Minister to apprise him of their problems. The delegation presented their demands to the Minister including reduction of rates of sugar, wheat and rice through Public Distribution System PDS and increase in commission paid to owners.
RSS blamed for Sonia8217;s ouster
MUMBAI: The Indian Youth Congress has charged the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh RSS for the ouster of Congress president Sonia Gandhi from the chairmanship of Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts IGNCA. IYC National Secretary Nadeem Nusrath said in a statement that the RSS is determined to change the history of this great nation and has been instrumental in forcing the Vajpayee Government to put its own historians in the All India History Congress and National Council for Educational Research and Training.
