Bhos elected Nagar ZP chief
Ahmednagar: Babsaheb Bhos of the Congress Party was elected president of Ahmednagar Zilla parishad, after the party joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena to win the coveted post.

Bhos defeated the Nationalist Congress Party NCP candidate Vittalrao Langhe with a margin of 17 votes.

Bhos won 45 votes while Langhe secured 28 votes. The post had fallen vacant after Naredra Ghule of the NCP who has been elected to the State Assembly resigned from the post. After the split in the Congress party a few months ago, the NCP8217;s strength in the Zilla Parishad ZP was 24 and the Congress had 21 members. The strength of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in the ZP is 29.
