
Alleged murderer nabbed after 9 yrs
Ahmednagar: In a midnight swoop, local crime branch men arrested a 32-year-old dacoit wanted for killing an Asiad bus conductor and a passenger nine years ago.
Two of the accomplices of Eknath Narayankar are serving life terms while three members of the gang from Parbhani district are still absconding.
A local trader Taherali Fakruddinali Hakimjiwala and conductor of the Aurangabad-Mumbai bus M G Dharmaji were killed in the dacoits8217; attack on the bus on May 4, 1990. Valuables and cash worth Rs 26,000 were looted in the incident. The crime branch sleuths lead by police sub-inspectors Ananda Wagh and C T Dhakrao laid a trap for Eknath who was absconding since the day of crime.
Karale elected
Ahmednagar: Ramesh Karale was on Thursday elected president of the Nagar city bar association in a keenly contested multi-cornered election.
Among the other newly elected office-bearers of the organisation are: B N Kakade vice-president, B N Ransing secretary, B S Bhasing and Meghana Phadnis joint secretaries and E M Gunjal, S W Kohokade, Shaikh Hafij Jahagirdar, K J Tandale, B B Pawar, M N Khan and Sangeeta Dhage executive committee members.
