Pune: The HSC results are expected to be announced on June 5, according to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary officials. However, the chairman of Mumbai Divisional Board of SSC and HSC, S Abidi said that the official announcement of the dates for declaration for HSC and SSC results will be made on Monday.
Pull up your socks, CM to civic councils
MAHABALESHWAR: Chief Minister Narayan Rane has asked the municipal councils in the State to be transparent and economically stable.
Providing all the basic amenities to the citizens has primarily been the responsibility of the municipal councils, the State Government would support them only when necessary, he said speaking at the hill station municipal council here on Sunday.
Calling Mahabaleshwar, the Kashmir of Maharashtra, Rane asked the municipal council members to create more facilities to attract the tourists.
The Chief Minister named the council meeting hall after late Bhausaheb Malwade and also unveiled the portraits of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Rane told the meeting that the State Government would consider linking the Jaoli Panchayat Samiti and a few other Zilla Parishad units to the Mahabaleshwar taluka.
Perfume helps to nab burglar
PUNE: Parag Ramakant Gaikwad 20 of Laxminagar slums in Parvati was arrested allegedly after he burgled the Deccan Gymkhana based 8220;Greetwell8221; shop and stole cosmetics estimated to be worth over Rs 2 lakh early on Saturday.
Police said Parag and his accomplice Ganesh Bharam entered the shop after breaking the glass pane. The due ate several chocolates and sprayed several bottles of perfumes on themselves before escaping with the cosmetics, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajit Patil said.They were transporting the stolen booty in an autorickshaw near Pulgate when a police patrol team smelt the perfumes and intercepted them. Ganesh escaped taking advantage of the darkness. Parag admitted to have committed the theft during interrogation.
