Proclaimed offender arrested
The local police claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender Jatinder Singh, who was involved in various cases. a resident of Yamunanagar, was arrested on September 29 from Ludhiana. DSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar said that Ambala resident Sanjay was nabbed by Lalru police at a naka at Dappar village and nearly 15,000 pouches of recovered from his possession. He has been book under the Excise Act, and his Fiat car impounded.

Pickpockets held
SAS Nagar police have arrested two minor children for picking pockets. The brother sister duo, Basan 8 and Somy 12, residents of Chandigarh, were arrested by the police under Section 370 of the IPC, and are being held in the Phase VIII Police Station, on the complaint of H. Singh who accused them of taking Rs 10,000 from his pocket as he was passing through a market in Phase III-B-2.

NSS camp ends
The 10-day National Service Scheme NSS camp held at the Government College of Education, Sector 20, concluded here today. During the camp NSS volunteers cleared the campus area and organised a poster-making competition on AIDS awareness.
