150 hoardings removed
In the drive launched to remove hoardings and other unauthorised structures more hoardings were removed from phases I, II, III-A, IV, V, VI and industrial area. Avtar Singh Kalsi, heading the demolition squad, claimed that over 150 hoardings were removed. He added that refund would be paid for the hoarding removed from the sites which were auctioned by the MC.

Career camp ends
A two-day career camp, organised by the Mohali Unit of State Employment Exchange in Phase I, concluded today. District Employment Officer Kamlesh Bhandari said that the basic aim of the programme was to help the students know of the various career options available to them. Students of various local schools visited the camp.

Scooterist killed
A scooterist, Nachatter Singh was killed on the spot when he was hit by a truck near Kakrali village. The truck driver, Titu Ram, a resident of Hisar, is absconding. A case has been registered under Section 279, 337, 427, 304 A of at police station Raipur Rani.

Ekta Sammelan n A three-day Manav Ekta Sammelan will be held from August 19 to 22, at Manav Kendra, Saketri road, near the Mata Mansa Devi temple in Panchkula. It is being organised to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Param Sant Thakur Singh Ji Maharaj.

150 examined
A health camp was organised by the State AIDS Control Society and Family Planning Association of India, Mohali branch, in Lal Bahadur Shastri slum colony. As many as 500 patients were examined at the camp.

Support for Bhatti
Chandigarh National Christian United Front and various other Christian organisations and churches today decided to support principal S.M. Bhatti who filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate from the UT for the forthcoming elections.
