Express staffer bereavedPatiala: Kaushalaya Devi (60), mother of Indian Express marketing executive Narinder Sharma, died after a brief illness here last night. She is survived by her husband, Radhey Shyam, and two daughters and three sons. Her funeral was held this afternoon at the Rajpura Road cremation grounds.Markfed staff dharnaChandigarh: The Markfed Employees Union continued its protest dharna against the upgradation of scales of the accounts cadre ignoring others. The Class IV employees had observed a one-day hunger strike on Thursday in support of their demands and sought recall of peons working at the residences of the present and former officers of the Markfed. Ranjit Goyal, president of the union, said the strike would continue till the upgrading of salaries of other cadres at par with the accounts cadre.
