Kwatra makes cut
NEW DELHI:
India8217;s Shivin Kwatra struck back to back 728217;s for an aggregate of 218 74, 72, 72 and comfortably made the cut in the 31st Junior World golf championships at the torrey pines, San Diego.

Japan8217;s Hiroi Taro 213 was leading the pack as all the golfers struggled to master the strong Pacific winds on the third day yesterday and there were only 13 scores of par and better, according to information received here today.

Kwatra8217;s round of 72 was not a true picture of his ball striking, which is best reflected in his shooting 15 greens in regulation and birdieing three of the four par fives.

Cup final
LONDON:
The last Benson and Hedges Cup final may have to be decided by a bowl out indoors after rain forced the clash between Essex and Leicestershire yesterday to be carried over into a second day.

Essex had just finished their allotted 50 overs on 268 for seven when rain began to fall. No further play was possible.
