Talking about the scarcity of water and electricity in the state, Hooda demanded a compensation of Rs 5,000 per acre to such farmers whose paddy crop had been damaged. Calling upon the Bansi Lal government to ensure adequate water and power to the paddy areas, Hooda said the paddy crop in the last two years had suffered due to this. Hooda also termed the bad availability of water in the state as a major reason for the spread of Gastroenteritis, which had already taken a few lives.

Hooda was speaking after taking over of the new NSUI chief of the state, Mahender Singh, where the All-India NSUI general secretary Abdul Hanan and Haryana8217;s former NSUI chief Sandeep Singh also addressed the NSUI members. Former Haryana Minister Anand Singh Dangi was also present.

Meanwhile, Hooda said Sonia Gandhi would soon visit the state in September and talk have a first-hand account of the problems of farmers in the state.
