IAF technicians refuse salaries

NASHIK, January 1: About 1,200 technicians of the Indian Air Force IAF at the 11 Base Repair Depot, Ozar, refused to accept their salaries yesterday, in protest against the anomalies in the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission.

The technicians refused to accept their salaries for the month of December which were calculated as per the new pay scales. The technicians later accepted the salaries according to their old pay scales. They are protesting against the payment of higher salaries to corresponding ranks in the Indian Navy and against higher pay and allowances to fighter pilots.
