Award for Dr Dilip Shah
Dr Dilip Shah has been recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Association of Dermatologists Maharashtra State Branch. Bringing out the positive aspects of our obsession with beauty, Shah says, 8220;Nowadays, most peoplemen and women 8211; are conscious of their looks. They will take the trouble to go to parlours and dermatologists rather than accept skin problems. While this has led to an obsession of sorts among men and women alike, what is great is the fact that beauty consciousness has reduced the prevalence of diseases like contact dermatitis and scabies. Also, allergies are not allowed to fester and get out of control. 8220;People now ask a doctor before using commercial products that claim to rid them of pimples or make them fair in a short time. This is quite heartening for the medical fraternity as we have to deal with lesser complications than before. Looking good is now great for the skin,8221; he says.
