PUNE, Feb 19: A headmaster of a primary school for boys run by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has been suspended for allegedly molesting students.

The suspension was ordered by the PCMC school board after a few students from standard VI and VII of the Yeshwantrao Chavan primary school at Thergaon, complained that they were being forced to do 8220;certain humiliating actions8221; by headmaster Tukaram Kondiba Jadhav.

The 54-year-old headmaster had been reportedly abusing the students for over a year, according to the complaints received by school board.

The last incident had occurred during a trip to Raigad on January 27. According to the students who complaint to the teachers, Jadhav was 8220;in the habit of asking them to unzip their pants and fondled them.quot; The teachers after hearing the complaints informed the school board authorities, after which Jadhav was asked to proceed on leave from February 1.

The school board on Monday received a complaint from a parent that his child was abused. It directed the teachers to make enquiries with other students. The statements of the students were recorded and subsequently Jadhav was suspended on Tuesday.In their statements, the students said that they were summoned by the headmaster at his office and asked to do 8220;humiliating acts8221;.

Sometimes, Jadhav lured the students on the promise that they would be cleared in the school examinations.
