Harish, Barkha win

CHANDIGARH, Sept 30: Harish Kumar and Barkha KC annexed titles in men8217;s and women8217;s section, respectively, in the 12th Chandigarh State table tennis tournament at the Sector 23 Indoor Table Tennis Hall, here today. Harish scored hard fought 3-2 victory over Tarun Akku while Barkha displayed tenacity to beat Ruchi 21-8, 21-15, 21-15. Rita Mitra, Accoutant General Haryana gave away the prizes to the winners.

Men: Semifinal: Harish Kumar bt Sunil Bhamboo 21-11, 21-13, 21-18; Tarun Akku bt Amod Dixit 15-21, 21-19, 22-20, 19-21, 21-14. Final: Harish Kumar bt Tarun Akku 13-21, 21-19, 21-17, 10-21, 21-17.
Women: Semifinal: Barkha KC bt Anuradha 21-10, 21-15; Ruchi bt Nadia Saini 21-14, 17-21, 21-13, 21-11. Final: Barkha KC bt Ruchi 21-8, 21-15, 21-15.
Mixed doubles: Anoop KC and Barkha bt Harish and Shikha 21-16, 21-14.
