Hardeep Singh from Punjab and trainee of the Harvest Tennis Academy qualified for the main draw of the Under-16 boys8217; singles by defeating Karnataka lad, Armaan Banerjee 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the Harvest Tennis Academy AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament being at Harvest Tennis Academy at Jassowal on Sunday.

Singh lost the first set 4-6 before fighting his way to win the second set with a margin of 6-1. Singh then prevailed in the final set winning the set with a margin of 6-3. Top seed Atul Sri Patel of Uttar Pradesh ended the challenge of Manoj of Haryana with a 7-6 5, 6-3 win. Patel claimed the first set narrowly with a margin of 7-65 before claiming the second set with a margin of 6-3. In another match in the same category, second seed Digvijay Naruka ended the challenge of Nishant Rebello of Andhra Pradesh. Third seed Resham Singh of Haryana ended the challenge of Nishchay Rawal of Chandigarh with an emphatic 6-2, 6-3 win. Singh claimed the first set easily with a margin of 6-2 before winning the final set with a margin of 6-3. In another match in the same category Aditya Sharma of Delhi scored a 6-0, 6-1 win over Nishat Iqbal of West Bengal. Sharma blanked Iqbal 6-0 in the first set before claiming the second set with a margin of 6-1.
