NOVEMBER 24: Harbans Kaur broke her own national shot put record of 17.06 metres with a throw of 17.43 metres in the Bristol Masters athletic meet at Priyadarshini Park today.

Amandeep Kaur and Surinder Jeet Kaur finished second and third respectively. Harbans pocketed Rs 10,000 as bonus for her efforts, apart from the Rs 5000 she won for taking top spot.

SAF Games silver medallist Paramjit Singh ran his third sub-47 400 metre race with a timing of 46.97 seconds. The Punjab policeman 8212; having recovered from an injury that kept him out of training for a couple of months 8212; was followed by Lijo David and Siddharth Basak.

Unbeaten for the past two seasons and beaten only by Rajeev Balakrishnan in recent times, Delhi8217;s Amit Khanna finished third in the 100 metre sprint. Anil Kumar topped in 10.8 seconds with Manoj Kumar taking second spot.

Maharashtra8217;s Rachita Mistry took the 100 metre gold in 11.69 seconds to make it three in a row following her success in the Bangalore National Games and the Federation Cup.
