Narendra Modi to address meet in US,on video

Gujarat CM will be one of the keynote speakers at Wharton India Economic Forum in Philadelphia.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be one of the keynote speakers at the Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF) to be held at The Penn Museum in Philadelphia,announced its official website. The list of six keynote speakers also includes deputy chairman of Planning Commission of India Montek Singh Ahluwalia and chairman of Adani Group,Gautam Adani.

As rumours on whether this would mean Modi finally getting a US visa swirled,the Wharton India website clarified on Thursday that both Modi and Ahluwalia would be speaking live via video-conference.

Union Minister of State for IT & Communications Milind Deora is also among the keynote speakers.

Wharton India Economic Forum is an annual student-run India-centric conference hosted by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Panelists in the media and entertainment section also feature poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar and actor Shabana Azmi.

Earlier keynote speakers have included former president Dr A P J Abdul Kalam,Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram,BJP leader Varun Gandhi and industrialist Anil Ambani.
