
Two days after the Tehelka expose where Arvind Pandya, special counsel for the Gujarat Government before the Nanavati-Shah Commssion, was shown making statements that undermined the authority of the commission and cast aspersions on the 8216;neutrality8217; of the judges, he has said he made the statements believing he was 8220;acting in a television serial called Madshow and reading from a written script8221;. Pandya has also sent in his resignation to the Government and the Commission.
Pandya has filed an FIR against Dhimant Purohit, bureau chief of Aaj Tak, and two others responsible for recording his statements. Pandya said, 8220;Six-seven months back, Dhimantbhai told me I had to act in a serial, I agreed. I was shocked to see the results. I was playing a character in it and had said many other things from a written script which have all been edited and portrayed very differently by Aaj Tak and Tehelka.8221;
