Grievances panel plea

SHIMLA, Nov 23: The Shimla district unit of Himachal Vikas Congress in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Bhagat Ram Chauhan, urged the state government to set up district and sub-divisional grievance committees to monitor the field work and implementation of various developmental commitments.

General secretary of the unit Bhadur Singh Thakur said the HVC district unit was concerned over the unprecedented price rise and has demanded firm action against those who were earning profits and creating shortage. The unit also demanded streamlining of the public distribution system and urged the state government to rush all the essential commodities to the interior of the districts before the acute winter and snowfall.

Thakur said it had been decided to hold workers8217; meetings in all eight constituencies of Shimla district and these would be addressed by district president Kewal Ram Chauhan and party president Sukh Ram.
