At least 15 people were injured in a grenade attack by militants at Budshah Chowk in the heart of the city on Wednesday.

Militants hurled a hand grenade targeting a security picket at the entrance of the Akhara building but it missed the intended target.

The grenade hit a passing passenger bus before exploding on the roadside, officials said, adding 15 pedestrians were injured in the blast.

The area was immediately cordoned off, they said.
