CHANDIGARH, MAY 30: Fine all-round performance by Munish Arora 41 runs and 3 for 9 helped Godrej Cricket Club beat Punjab Warehousing Corporation by 8 wickets and entered the last four stage of the third Chandigarh league-cum-knock-out cricket tournament played at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium here today.

Electing to bat PWC batsmen could not face hostile spell of Munish Arora and Vijay Pal. The duo scalped three wickets each to bundle out PWC for a paltry score of 99 runs.

Navneet Thapar and Daljeet Singh with 25 and 24 runs, respectively, were the main batsmen to score for the team.

Chasing the total, Godrej CC achieved the target in the 18th over for the loss of two wickets.

Vineet Jain 44 and Munish Arora 41 were the principal scorer for the winners.

In another match deadly spell by Jaswant Rai 4 for 16 and RP Singh 4 for 25 enabled Piccadily XI beat PGI XI by 55 runs to enter the semifinal.In the match played at the Punjab Engineering College, Tari XI scored 8 wickets win over Pace XI, to make into the last four stage of the meet.In the semifinals to be played on June 6, Godrej CC will face Chetna XI while Piccadily XI will take on Tari XI.
