
PANAJI, MARCH 20: The ten-day budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly would begin on Tuesday with the customary Governor8217;s address to the house.
As per the tentative programme, the business before the house during the session includes the presentation of the budget of the state for 2000-01, presentation and passing of vote on account for 2000-01 and the appropriation bill, official sources here said.
The house would also pass the supplementary demands for grants for 1999-2000 and the appropriation bill to be presented at the session, the first to be held at the majestic new assembly complex at Porvorim.
The budget for 2000-01 would be presented on March 29 and the vote on account on March 30, the last day of the session, the sources said.
Built on a hillock plateau, overlooking river Mandovi at a cost of Rs 32 crore, the facilities provided at the centrally air-conditioned complex includes an Electronic Voting Machine and separate offices for ministers, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and MLAs.
