CHANDIGARH, Nov 30: Fine unbeaten half century 77 not out by Deepak helped Government Model School-23 beat Govt Senior School-45 by 46 runs to win third position in under-19 boys group in the Chandigarh State Inter-School cricket tournament.
GMS-23 won the toss and elected to bat and scored 195 runs in the allotted 25 overs, losing four wickets. Deepak8217;s 77 not out, which included four boundaries and four sixers, greatly contributed to the victory of the team in the match today. Kartik Tuli 44 and Gundeep 20 also contributed to the total.
In reply, GSS-45 were bundled out for 149 in 25 overs.
Harish8217;s unbeaten 55, came to a naught other batsmen failed to score. Kulwinder got two wickets.

Cricket trials today
Trials to select Chandigarh girls team under-19 for the North Zone cricket tournament to be held at Panchkula in December first week, will be held tomorrow at Dev Samaj School in Sector 21, at 3 p.m.
Walk events
The Chandigarh Sports Department will organise walk event for Senior citizen men and women on December 5, at 6.30 p.m., at Leisure Valley. The event is a part of Chandigarh carnival. According to a press release, contests will be held in three categories 65 to 70 years 5km, 70 to 75 yrs 4km and 75 to 80 yrs 3km.
Entries close on December 2, with Inder Pal Singh Assistant Council, Chandigarh Sports Council, Sports Department, Sector 9.
