Chinese swimmer, coach barred from World meet
PERTH: A Chinese swimmer caught bringing banned human growth hormones into Australia and her coach were on Friday barred from the World Championships but the sport’s ruling body said it was not planning to expel the Chinese team. Fina said it had referred breaststroker Yuan Yuan and her coach Zhou Zhewen to its doping control panel to consider whether they had been involved in "trafficking" of banned substances.
The doping control panel, formed of a team of three lawyers, would meet in the next 24 hours, Fina secretary Gunnar Werner told a news conference.
