In a bizarre incident, a Non-Resident Indian was mysteriously abducted from Ghaziabad while he was returning home after attending a get-together, only to end up at a city hospital in a critical state later. The police confirmed that he was admitted to a city hospital but refused to divulge details on where he has been admitted.

According to the case registered at Massoori police station, Ramesh Singhal, an NRI, who owns a departmental store in the US and is a resident of Modinagar, Ghaziabad, had gone to meet few of his friends on Thursday. 8220;He hired a car from Charu Travels to go to Sangam Hotel to meet his friends,8221; said Vijay Bhushan, SP City, Ghaziabad. According to the police, on his way back home, a Santro stopped near Singhal8217;s car and allegedly abducted him and the driver.

8220;The police managed to trace the car and the driver, but till late in the evening, Singhal could not be traced. We have just received information that he has been admitted to a city hospital in a critical state,8221; added Bhushan.

According sources in the police, however, the driver and Singhal were allegedly beaten up by goons and robbed near Massoori. Senior police officials, however, maintained that Singhal was abducted. 8220;There was no ransom call made to the family. We are interrogating one Ramveer Singh, who was there with Singhal at the party,8221; said Bhushan.
