BHUBANESWAR, JAN 16: Benefits of genetically-engineered crop species, immune to pest attacks and now being developed by scientists in India, might reach farmers by 2001, according to an expert. The technology involving a soil bacterium – bacillus thuringiensis – bt, had already been accepted as an alternative strategy for insect pest management by reducing usage of pesticides.
