Ikkis Box Office Collection Day 8: Agastya Nanda starrer mints Rs 1.35 crore ahead of second weekend,
Ikkis Box Office Collection Day 8: Director Sriram Raghavan’s war film based on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC’s life, Ikkis, has just entered its second week in the theatres. Despite competing with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar and James Cameron’s Avatar Fire and Ash, Ikkis was able to mint Rs 24 crore during the first week of its theatrical run. However, it has not picked up the pace as according to industry tracker Sacnilk, Ikkis earned Rs 1.35 crore on day 8. It’s India net collection is now Rs 25.6 crore.
The Agastya Nanda starrer started with 2343 shows all across the country, and while it has managed to retain most of those screens, it has lost around 250 shows since its release. It is also to be noted that upon the film’s release, it got many of the screens previously allotted to Dhurandhar, as both films are backed by Jio Studios. Now with just over 2000 shows, the film is entering its second weekend, and it has new competitors to think of. While Hindi and Telugu films don’t overlap each other much in the theatres, the film in question is The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas. The pan-India star has the ability to draw a serious amount of footfall towards his project, which could harm Ikkis’ numbers even further.
The occupancy rates of the film for day 8 averaged out at 9.55%. The morning and afternoon shows brought in rates of 5.14% and 9.72%, while the evening and night shows achieved rates of 11.24% and 12.10%. These aren’t very promising numbers for a film which has just been in the theatres for a week. This is also a new test for the theatrical debutante Agastya Nanda, who is trying to get out of the shadow of his family, the Bachchans. Despite that, Agastya has made it clear that his focus is making his father, Nikhil Nanda, proud first, and then he can worry about the Bachchan legacy.
Another debutante facing the box office for the first time is Simar Bhatia, who is playing the female lead in the movie. Actor Akshay Kumar’s niece has already got high praise from his uncle and big-time director Karan Johar for her performance in the film.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the cast of Ikkis includes Agastya Nanda, Simar Bhatia, Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Asrani, Rahul Dev, Zakir Hussain, Vivaan Shah and Sikandar Kher.
