
VADODARA, June 23: The Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) has restored 105 sub-stations out of the 115 affected in the cyclone. The restoration work in the remaining 10 sub-stations will be completed soon.
A GEB spokesman said the Board had restored all the 46 sub-stations in Junagadh and Porbandar districts, three sub-stations in Amreli and Bhavnagar districts and 10 sub-stations in Rajkot. Only three out of the 33 sub-stations affected in Kutch district and seven out of the 23 affected in Jamnagar district remain to be restored. The total restoration is likely to be completed with next few days, the spokesman added.
Power supply has been restored in about 12,573 villages and 10,599 kilometer-long high tension (HT) lines and 7,618 kilometer-long low tension (LT) lines have become operational. More than 3,500 transformer centres have become operational apart from restoration of 2,43,426 single phase low tension service connections, 30,488 three phase low tension service connections, 25,155 poles and 3,105 feeders.
On Tuesday, the Board restored power supply to 64 villages, towns and cities.
Apart from starting 15,917 single phase service lines. It also restored 112 distribution transformers, 3,435 poles and 32 feeders.
