Mohammad Akram, who was picked by the Bihar Police as a suspect in the Mumbai blasts, was released on Sunday due to lack of evidence.
Akram was picked up from Dangra village in Gaya last Thursday as his facial features matched one of the two sketches released initially by the Mumbai Police. However, Akram will continue to be under the scanner. Police have told him not to leave his village and to register his presence every day at the local police station.
Gaya Superintendent of Police AK Jain said that Akram was released as evidence collected against him were not enough to justify his arrest.
