If you go by the body language, it is clear that Sourav Ganguly wants to prove he has regained everything that he had lost over the past one month — be it form, fitness or match temperament.
Ganguly was quickly into the groove of things as soon as he arrived for the practice session for the Duleep Trophy final between East and West Zones at the Motera ground here. After a quick warm-up session with his teammates, he had a private short-catch session with coach Paras Mhambhrey, a 25-minute batting stint in the nets, and then he grabbed the ball to have a short bowling session, too.
In between, he spoke his mind regarding his comeback to the national team. ‘‘I do expect my name to be included in the squad.’’ The Indian team for the ODI series against South Africa will be announced tomorrow in Vadodara.
On being queried about his priority, ODIs or Tests, he said, ‘‘I am ready for both the forms of the game.’’
What does he think about the performance of the Indian team?
‘‘I have represented the team for ten years and obviously it feels good that the team is doing well,’’ said Ganguly with a wry smile.
