NEW DELHI, May 14: An unbeaten 155 by Aditya Gadia and 115 by Vikas Sharma guided Gyan Bharti School into the quarter-finals of the BDM Moonways under-19 cricket tournament as they beat Mont Fort Academy by a margin of 170 runs in the superleague game.

Winning the toss, Gyan Bharti elected to bat and justifying their decision their batsmen piled up a huge total of 364 for the loss of five wickets. Gadia’s unbeaten knock was studded with a six and 21 boundaries while Vikas Sharma’s century contained 15 hits to the ropes as the two added 240 for the fourth wicket.

In reply, however, Mont Fort Academy wilted under pressure to be all about for 194 after Anish Aggarwal (4 for 33) and Satya Saikia (3 for 52) jolted them. Gaurav Doul (46) was the topscorer for the Academy.

DS Group in Semis: DS Group scrapped past Sahara Airlines to grab a semi-final spot in the Hari Singh Tyagi TYCA Cricket tournament when the former beat the latter by four runs at the Mohan Meakin ground here today.

Batting first, DS Group were in dire straits as they found themselves at the receiving end, having lost five wickets for 78 runs. But some resilience from Gautam Vadera (21), Devender Singh (37) and a late order surge by Rajeev Rathore (49) saw them put up a somewhat challenging total of 183. The bowling honours was claimed by Jagjit Singh, who captured 3 for 23 while Sunil Sharma, Surendera Dayma and Mahender Pal all claiming two wickets each.

But despite a well made 57 by Vikas Chandan and an equally responsible 43 by Raman Ghai in the middle order, Sahara were shot out for 179, thanks to an incisive spell of six for 76 by Devender Singh.
