Four years on, another mob at the bakery

Best Bakery was under siege once again on Friday after the court verdict on the 2002 massacre8212;residents of the impoverished Hanuman Tekri locality joined the relatives of the convicted to gherao the bakery.

The target of their ire was Heena Vasava left, wife of Nafitullah, Zaheera Sheikh8217;s elder brother, who has been staying at the bakery under police protection for the past six months. While a strong police contingent managed to disperse the mob, a frightened Heena later said that she had had no contact with either her husband or anyone else from the Sheikh family for the last three months.

8220;My husband is seriously ill and is admitted to a Mumbai hospital. I can8217;t even enquire about his health,8217;8217; she said. Nafitullah is said to be being treated for pancreatitis in a Mumbai hospital.
