Four missed cuts sum up the action this week 8212; Jeev Milkha Singh and Harmeet Kahlon failed to make the top sixty in Japan, followed by Arjun Atwal, who met a similar fate in Europe and Daniel Chopra on the Buy.Com Tour.

Jeev carded an opening 74, followed by a level-par 72 at the JGTO TPC Iiyama Cup, while Harmeet 8212; who got his first taste of the golf and weather on the Japanese tour 8212; shot 76, 71 to miss the cut which was applied at one-over for the tournament.

Meanwhile, playing the Smurfit European Open at the 2006 Ryder Cup venue 8211; the K-Club in Ireland, Arjun fired scores of 78 and 81 to miss the cut.

A 36-hole total of 146, with rounds of 69 and 77 did not help Daniel progress much at the Hershey Open and he too spent the weekend heading to his next venue.

The next few days will see most golfers head for Europe as they begin qualifying for the Open Championship, the only major open to almost anyone who has the skills to qualify. Jeev will join Atwal as they tee it up at the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond where they play for eight spots available for players who are not exempt into the British Open.

The field will consist of top European contenders Colin Montgomerie, Jose Maria Olazabal, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen as well as Americans Tom Lehman, Brad Faxon, John Daly, Stewart Cink and Matt Kuchar who will treat this event as a warm up to the unique links conditions.

Indrajit Bhalotia will play the first stage qualifying and then head to Scotland, while, Harmeet Kahlon and Amandeep Johl will be amongst the other Indian golfers who will participate in the final qualifying this weekend.

All eyes will be on Tiger Woods, who is said to be in Ireland already, getting accustomed to the climate, playing a few links courses and as is his custom each year, indulge in fly fishing with friend and colleague Mark O8217;Meara.

Having won both Majors so far this year, the Open will be his first competitive event after winning the US Open and needless to say, he will be the favourite yet again. And as Jeev says: 8216;8216;He8217;s so good because he works really hard. We guys are lazy compared to him.8217;8217;
