Circa 1981. Disco is in, Julio Iglesias tops the international charts with his version of Begin The Beguine, and Indian women have never danced like this before. Fast forward to 2000. Discos are crowded, Enrique Iglesias is hot, and girls haven’t sweat like this in years!

Like Julio Iglesias — doyen of Latin music and a self-confessed hedonist, son Enrique too has his fair share of affairs. The latest round of rumors linked him with teen sensation and Grammy winner, Christina Aguilera. According to reports in the New York Post, the 19 year-old songstress and the Latin heart-throb were spotted in courtship at a hip Manhattan hot-spot, hours after performing at VH1’s Men Strike Back Concert.

Besides inheriting a great voice and a greater face to match, this crooner has oodles of talent. In addition to Spanish, the multi-lingual Iglesias can sing in Italian, Portuguese, as well as in English. His newest baby titled Enrique, is his maiden attempt at singing in English — an attempt that has paid off well. This 1999 release contains hits such as Bailamos (which also features in the Wild Wild West soundtrack), a similar, yet catchy number Rhythm Divine, and of course, his latest chart-topping charmer To Be With You. Resplendent tunes embellished with those oh-so-sensual-videos seem to have the entire audience swaying to his Rhythm Divine. This transition from Latin Pop to English seems to have worked well with his ever growing coterie of fawning fans. As MTV rightly put it, "Where his previous albums certainly demonstrated it, they were pointed more directly at a young, Latin audience, and therefore bristled with more energy and contemporary flavor. However, with but a few exceptions, this album is definitely meant to get the ladies swooning."

And that’s happening already.
