A very cool site on the internet is of the aerodrome which is about the fighter planes which were used in the First World War. At theaerodrome.com, the site offers a fascinating glimpse of how wars were fought then.
It lists all the planes of WWI with a picture, specifications and a short history. For instance, the British plane Sopwith Camel is described as the plane which had more aerial victories than any other allied aircraft. It was introduced in 1916 and 5490 planes were built. But it looks so frail, than one wonders how it could fight so well.
Apart from interesting graphics, the site has details on the ace pilots who flew the fighters.
