South Africa reached 256-6 on Thursday to take a slender 25-run lead against England in their first innings before play was called off almost an hour before time due to bad light on the second day of the third Test.
Andrew Flintoff became only the 12th England bowler to reach 200 Test wickets, dismissing Neil McKenzie for 72. Ashwell Prince was unbeaten on 37 with Mark Boucher on 11. South Africa, who were sailing at 205 for 4 at tea, were rocked by an inspired performance by Flintoff in the final session, who removed the dangerous-looking Jacques Kallis 64, then sent back AB de Villiers for 5. Earlier, Kallis shared a 50-run fifth-wicket partnership with Prince to frustrate England8217;s bowlers.
In overcast and humid conditions perfectly suited to swing bowling, England8217;s bowlers failed to make a breakthrough until 15 minutes before lunch, when nightwatchman Paul Harris was caught at slip for 19 off the bowling of Ryan Sidebottom.
