Flexible visa regime for skilled persons?

Realising the need to develop skilled workforce in the country, the government is planning to simplify the existing visa regime for this section. A proposal mooted by the finance ministry has underlined that a flexible visa regime for skilled person would help the country address skill shortage. According the proposal, a model visa regime should be set up for the movement of skilled persons into India in a bid to expand their skill set available in the country, while addressing potential skill constraints in the country’s economy. The government also believes that the step would immensely help country in becoming a true knowledge power.
