Flexible visa regime for skilled persons?

Realising the need to develop skilled workforce in the country, the government is planning to simplify the existing visa regime for this section. A proposal mooted by the finance ministry has underlined that a flexible visa regime for skilled person would help the country address skill shortage. According the proposal, a model visa regime should be set up for the movement of skilled persons into India in a bid to expand their skill set available in the country, while addressing potential skill constraints in the country8217;s economy. The government also believes that the step would immensely help country in becoming a true knowledge power.
