Five jawans killed

PUNE, May 9: Five jawans of the State Reserve Police Force were killed on the spot while five others were injured when their van ran head on into a ST bus near Dusarbid on Jalna-Mahekar road on Friday morning.

According to reports reaching here the jawans belonging to the battalion 5, C8217; company of the SRPF were proceeding to the Naxalite-affected district Gadchiroli, from Daund to check the Naxalites activities there.

The dead bodies were identified as A.T. Gondhale head constable, A K Raut naik, V S Dolas, S P Pawar and P L Apsite all constables.
