Skipper Anil Kumble and senior players Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly were today declared fit for the upcoming Test series against South Africa. Paceman RP Singh and VRV Singh also passed the fitness test at the National Cricket Academy but Rajasthan bowler Pankaj Singh was advised rest for three weeks. Pankaj has now developed a hip strain. I’m fit, says SachinSachin Tendulkar dispelled concerns that he will not be available for the Test series against South Africa because of fitness related issues. “I have played the last match. As far as I am concerned I am fit. I have not said anything before on this. I will certainly play,” he said. The BCCI, meanwhile called off the proposed two-day interactive workshop to be conducted by coach Gary Kirsten on March 18 and 19 to give more time to rest to the players after the Australia tour.
