The government will call financial bids for the privatisation of Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (IPCL) next week.

Disinvestment secretary Pradip Baijal said, ‘‘We will call pre-bid conference of all IPCL bidders on Monday or Tuesday.

The transaction documents for IPCL will be finalised in this conference.’’ Such a meeting is called in case of any privatisation, he added. The Reliance group, Indian Oil Corporation and the Nirma group are in the race for 26 per cent equity of the petrochemicals giant.
