CHANDIGARH, Sept 24: The Food Corporation of India today suspended a quality inspector posted at Kaleke focal point, apart from asking the Market Committee at Dhanaula to suspend the licence of two commission agents involved in paddy procurement.

P.P. Singh, Regional Manager, Punjab, inspected Bhaini Mehraj, Budber, Dhanaula and Kaleke purchase centres in Sangrur district yesterday.

According to a press statement issued here today, at Kaleke focal point, commission agents M/s Amar Nath and Co. and M/s Bansal Trading Company had resorted to short weight filling of bags, which was done in connivance with FCI Quality Inspector S.P. Shukla. Following this, Shukla has been placed under suspension, whereas the Market Committee, Dhanaula, has been asked to cancel the licence of the commission agents.
