145;Farmers let down by govt146;

Manish Tewari, Secretary and spokesperson of the All India Congress committee, today criticised the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharitya Janata Party government in the state for it8217;s 8220;all round failure8221;. Addressing a public rally at village Tiba near Sahnewal, Tewari said, 8220;The self proclaimed farmer-friendly government has created a mess out of the paddy procurement process.8221; The Congress leader also said that the farmers had been let down by the government.

Tewari said that there was a total failure of state machinery. He accused the government of imposing new taxes on the people and supplying power to select areas. He said that whenever Chief Minister Parkash Badal is in the city, there were no powercuts and the power went off along with the chief minister.

The function was organised by former sarpanch Jaswinder Singh Judge and was attended by Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, Ramesh Kumar, Harjinder Kaur Alamgir, Charanjit Singh Umedpur and Pawan Dewan among others.
