CHANDIGARH, Sept 10: The Punjab University Non-Teaching Employees8217; Federation today staged a protest demonstration outside the main office building to protest the alleged removal of eyeball of Jagdish Ram, record lifter with the Music Department.

The eyeball was removed by Dr Rajan Chugh, part-time eye specialist, at the University Health Centre. The V-C had ordered an inquiry into the incident following a complaint filed by Jagdish Ram.

Members of the federation are demanding registration of an FIR against Dr Chugh. Stating this here, Dharam Paul Sharma, the president of the federation, said that the university authorities should take the case to the Consumer Forum and ensure that damages are paid and also that the Medical Council of India should be approached.
