After a rousing success at Chandigarh, it’s swinging time once again and city golf aficionados will get an opportunity to try their hand at a game that needs a combination of luck and skill.

Film star Suresh Oberoi will be the star attraction at the first The Indian Express Power Golf tournament at the par-71 Poona Club golf course, on Saturday.

Sponsored by Four Square, the event would also witness India No. 6 amateur Jaideep Patwardhan, who will be playing in the city after a gap of four months after being actively involved in the amateur circuit.

With 96 golfers which includes builders, businessmen, technocrats, high-level executives apart from the odd bureaucrat in fray, the event would tee-off with a shot gun start at 7.00 a.m sharp.

The participants would play a four-ball game on a stableford format. Apart from team honours, individual scores would also be noted for prizes.

Up for grabs are the best score among senior citizens, longest drive, nearest to the pin awards apart from ‘surprises’ that will be announced at the end of the day.

The high-point of the tournament would be the prize for the best score in the lady and gentleman sections. The prize: A free trip to Vienna, courtesy Austrian Airlines.

The other sponsors of the event include Don Diego, Spalding, Puma, Wilson, Fosters and Planet Sports. After Pune, the tournament moves on to Delhi for the final edition at the DLF Golf Club on April 19.
