CHANDIGARH, Oct 5: The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen H.B. Kala, today assured ex-servicemen that their problems would be resolved in consultation with the Sainik Welfare Board. He was interacting with retired servicemen settled in Ambala District during his two-day farewell visit to Headquarters, 2 Corps, based at Ambala.

A statement issued here said the major demand put forward by ex-servicemen was the provision of a mobile MI room for those residing in the townships of Barara Narayangarh. The GOC 2 Corps, Lt Gen G.S. Lt Gen Kala, who is scheduled to take over as GOC-in-C of the Shimla-based Army Training Command on October 15, also attended a band concert presented by the 14 Gurkha Training Centre Band, followed by a social get-together with officers.
