
CHANDIGARH, Dec 16: The Ambassador of China to India, Zhou Gang has said that China and Punjab should share their experiences in the development process. The Ambassador called on the Punjab governor, Lt.Gen retd. B.K.N. Chhibber last evening along with his wife Deng Junbing.
He said that he was impressed by the planning and architectural concept of Chandigarh and lauded the efforts of the UT Administration in keeping the city neat and clean.
The Punjab Governor said that all countries would have to live in a world of mutual support and not mutual confrontation. He said that in the new era, economic frontier could not remain confined to geographical and political barriers and both China and India should now strive to strengthen their economic and trade relationship.
Lt. Gen Chhibber said while Punjab was essentially an agricultural state, it was now trying to move in the direction of industrialisation. He added that with a strong base in the small-scale sector, Punjab was ready to enter hi-tech computer software area.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador told the Punjab Governor about the education system in China, wherein education upto the middle level was compulsory for every citizen. He also shared in detail the system of training and grooming children in sports at various sports centres in China.
