PUNE, Dec 2: Innovation does not require prerequisites like a bag load of degrees and expertise.

This is exactly what Sanjay Gondhkar, a 25-year-old engineering student from the city based Dnyaneshwar Tantrik Vyavasay Shikshan Kendra has proved.

Virtually robbing all the automobile giants of their share of visitors at the Auto 98′, Sanjay stood beaming at the exhibition hall where he displayed his research product – an imposing three-wheel sports car. Required to undergo further additions, the car has so far cost only Rs 20,000 , which Sanjay has managed to generate with some help of his friends. The three-wheel mid-engine sports car combination with one rear wheel drive has been conceptualised and designed by Gondhkar. The car, having duplex chair and front two steering wheels is inspired from `Scorpion’ by Grinnal which has a powerful 1000 cc BMW engine on the tail.

“I started working on this three months ago. It will require two more years for completion," Sanjay told The Indian Express adding that the car, once ready will have speed of 140 kms per hour and costaround Rs 1.5 lakh.

However, funds are a problem. The enterprising youngster has been running to automobile giants for sponsorship but till date none have come forward.
