The Election Commission took stock of the poll preparedness in the states at the meeting of chief election officers (CEO) from across the country today and called for timely and accurate completion of revised electoral rolls.
The state officers were addressed by Chief Election Commissioner J.M. Lyngdoh, CEC-designate T.S. Krishnamurthy and election commissioner B.B. Tandon. The CEOs were asked to submit details of the security required in their states in the run-up to elections, the EC sources said. They were also to draw up a list of polling personnel fully prepared for simultaneous elections. The EC stressed making Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) available in all constituencies of the country for which training and awareness programmes are to be started.
