A British tabloid, News of the World, has suspended its royal editor, the paper said on Friday.

A British tabloid, News of the World, has suspended its royal editor, the paper said on Friday. He was charged with conspiring to intercept phone messages as part of a police investigation into allegations of eavesdropping on officials working for Prince Charles.

Clive Goodman, 48, will remain suspended pending police inquiry. Goodman and Glenn Mulcaire, 35, were arrested on Tuesday and charged the following day.
