Star Movies should watch out. They8217;re showing all kinds of things in the 3 pm afternoon movie slot. Recently, it telecast a 15 film about three brothers and their trysts with love. Which was all very interesting and passionate but it was quite risque and should it have been shown during the afternoon when children watch television often unattended? With lines such as, 8220;Do you mean to tell me that you are going to stick your 8230;.. into another woman?8221;, we at Tele Express say a firm No.8217;

It8217;s a myth
There are three mythologicals being made on goddess Durga 8211; one by Cinevista, second by Ramanand Sagar and a third by Sanjay Khan. At one point of time there were five epics being made on Lord Ganesha. And two of them even went ahead and shot the pilot episode. One was Shyam Ramanna of Crest Communications and the other Ramnik Patel. Ramanna8217;s serial was called Shri Ganesh and Patel8217;s Jai Ganesh. The latter, we hear had shot around six episodes which has cost him obviously a fortune. It8217;s now more than two years and there is no sign of Lord Ganesha coming, and surprisingly if sources are to be believed both were approved for Doordarshan. That8217;s why probably its called Door-Darshan!

In and out
It had to happen some day. As you all know Madhavan is flying high after he8217;s signed on a Mani Ratnam8217;s film. And now he8217;s having a lot of date problems, if rumours are to be believed. He is out of Sea Hawks and while he is being quite loyal to the producers of Saaya and Ghar Jamai, Raju Kher is having problems in Sanskaar. If you have kept track of the soap Mahadevan is out on an office tour for we don8217;t know how many episodes and if insiders are to be believed it8217;s because they don8217;t have his dates. He8217;s also been replaced in Ajit Pal8217;s new sitcom Hello Friends.

Speaking of which Ajit Pal8217;s Hello Friends premieres on 6th September at 10 p.m. on Zee TV. It has an interesting star cast which includes Simone Singh, Maria Goretti, Aparna, Nikhil Chinnappa, Cyrus Broacha and Anil Dimbri model of Doncar and Gillette. 8220;It8217;s an absolute sitcom in the truest sense. It8217;s unlike other comedies which are family based, this one has a young and fresh look and it8217;s not slapstick. Even in terms of production values this is the biggest show.8221; We can vouch for that as in the first shooting schedule itself he had erected nine sets in the air-conditioned Filmistan studio. All said and done, if the first episode and his previous track record is anything to go by Hello Friends should be fun. Which is more than can be said for most comedies.

Think smoke
Recently, if you remember, we wrote about Gautam Adhikari8217;s entry into the Limca Book of World Records for having directed over 1200 episodes in a decade. Well, he might also get an entry for chain-smoking. Believe it or not, he smokes around 120 to 150 cigarettes in a day. He almost works 20 hours a day, as his company has 10 serials on air. Well, he is seriously thinking of leaving cigarettes but to think he needs 8211; cigarettes. Right Gautam!

Ishtyl-ish Chaya
People who have kept track of Raahein on Zee would have noticed a change in Shefali Chaya. Well, there have been stories that it8217;s a deliberate change to shrug off Chaya8217;s image as Savi in Hasratein. That8217;s why she8217;s changed her look from a simple looking salwar kameez wali to a modern working woman. In the story she moves from her MBA institute into business; hence the modern look and western outfits. Explains producer, Vinta Nanda. 8220;There has been a transition in her life as her boyfriend is married to someone else. She feels let down by her simple looks and wants to express herself through her exterior. It8217;s all explained in the serial through dialogues, it8217;s not deliberately done but because of the story line.8221; Point noted.

Not funny
Another casualty seems to be Rohit Roy who these days is sorta out of work after Baat Ban Jaaye went off the air. He signed on Sattee Shourie8217;s Hera Pheri and did a few episodes but now rumours say he8217;s walked out of the sitcom. The reason we hear is not date problems but he was quite put off because the entire focus is on Shekhar Suman and Rakhi Tandon. We also hear that Amit Behl is also going to follow suit.
