
NEW DELHI, February 19: The Delhi Vidyut Board DVB has decided to grant electricity connections to all consumers on demand. The liberalised policy, according to the government sp-okesman, envisages the granting of new connections as well as sanctioning of the additional loads of various categories of the consumers in all areas.
This is not applicable in areas where an electricity network does not exist at all, he added. The spokesman said that under this policy, permanent electricity connections and additional load will be granted in all distinctly separate portions of a building on all floors, including basements, on the submission of specified documents.
The documents include an application-cum-agreement form, the test report from the authorised wiring contractor, lawful proof of occupancy on the basis of documents, lift certificate and fire clearance certificate. The spokesman said that in case of industrial connections, the affidavit shall mention that no court orders are being infringed.
The government has, however, clarified that these provisional electric connections shall not confer any legal right for regularisation of the building or the land use. 8220;The connection shall be liable for disconnection as and when concerned authorities tell the DVB,8221; he said.
For the benefit of consumers, special arrangements were made to expedite these sanctions, which would remain in force for at least one month.
